International Shipping & Reshipping

SHIPPING POLICY - Damaged or Lost Shipments

If your shipment arrives visibly damaged in transit, you must report it to hello@madskinco.com within 48 hours of delivery with photo documentation of the damage and the packaging. Please note that this policy specifically refers to USPS and UPS claims. I will submit the claim on your behalf; however, it does not always get approved. The typical coverage is up to $100 unless you request additional insurance, which is your responsibility to ask for. Any remedy provided is at Mad Skin Co's sole discretion and may be limited to a partial store credit, depending on the outcome of the carrier claim. It is important to understand that this reimbursement does not come from Mad Skin Co.

Mad Skin Co is not responsible for packages marked as delivered by the shipping carrier, packages stolen from porches or mailboxes, or delivery addresses that are entered incorrectly at checkout.

Combining Orders for Loyalty Members

If you place multiple orders within a short time frame and are a loyalty member, I will do my best to combine your orders to save on reshipping costs. Please note that this is not always possible and is provided as a courtesy.

Reshipping Information

Reshipping can take anywhere from a few days to unpack and inventory the items, followed by additional time to fulfill the orders. This process can be time-consuming, and delays may occur. Orders may arrive in separate shipments, and there may be instances where supplies run out, leading to further waiting. These factors are a normal part of running a customer-first business aimed at keeping costs low.

Responsibility for Reshipping

You are responsible for the reshipping costs to your address. Reshipping refers to the process of sending items to you after they have been received and processed. I use either USPS or UPS for shipping, depending on rates and delivery timelines. When shipping via UPS, your orders will be sent out in a single pickup along with multiple other orders, which helps to keep costs down. We are a community, and we move together.

Shipping and Delivery

Our Unique Approach to Retail

At Mad Skin, we do not operate on a traditional retail model. Instead, I personally manage the business to minimize overhead costs, allowing us to keep prices low for you. Your understanding and patience are paramount when ordering with Mad Skin.

Shipping Information

All orders are shipped within the United States only. Orders are processed within stated timeframes, which vary by product type (ready stock versus group buy or preorder). Please note that all delivery times posted on the site are ESTIMATES ONLY and are NOT guaranteed.

Mad Skin Co is not liable for shipping or delivery delays caused by:

  • International manufacturer production schedules or stock issues

  • Customs inspection, processing, or holds

  • Shipping carriers, including delays, lost packages, or damaged shipments

  • Weather events, natural disasters, strikes, pandemics, or other force majeure events

  • Errors or omissions by third-party suppliers or service providers

Once Mad Skin Co transfers products to the shipping carrier, title and risk of loss pass to you. International customs duties, import taxes, or any other fees that may apply are the sole responsibility of the buyer. Upon receiving your orders, to ensure a smoother resolution process, we require an unboxing video in the event of any discrepancies with your order.

Understanding International Shipping Costs

International shipping can often come as a surprise, especially when ordering low-priced products that are high in volume, such as liquids or heavy items. While the product itself may be inexpensive, the shipping costs can significantly increase the overall expense, making it appear as a higher percentage of the total cost.

Shipping Calculations

Typically, international shipping costs are calculated and shared among participants in a group buy. This method aims to ensure fairness, especially when some participants order heavier products while others order lighter items. Here’s how it works:

  • Your share of the shipping cost is your responsibility and will appear as a separate line item.

  • This approach provides transparency regarding sourcing and where costs are allocated.

  • Heavy items such as liquids, glass jars, bar back items, shampoos, gels, and large format products will incur significantly higher shipping fees.

Factors Affecting Shipping Costs

Shipping costs are typically calculated based on weight and volume weight. However, various factors can influence these costs:

  • Changing market conditions

  • Fuel surcharges

  • Exchange rates

Due to these variables, it is often challenging to provide a precise shipping rate in advance. Estimates can lead to complications, as discrepancies between estimated and actual costs can leave someone responsible for the difference. Therefore, it is essential to understand that you are fully responsible for any international charges, including duties, tariffs, and clearance fees from authorities such as the FDA.

Final Thoughts

While I strive to provide estimates when possible, international shipping comes with its own set of challenges. We operate on a direct sourcing model, which can lead to occasional mishaps. However, we are committed to ensuring that shipments are handled as safely and efficiently as possible. Be prepared for shipping rates that can range from a minimum of $10 to as high as 36%, so keep this in mind when placing your order.
